Back and Forth.

Hair. Some days, it's just hair. Really, it's just hair coming out of our heads. Other days? It's Hair. Sometimes if we let it, it can define who we are. You either love it or hate it. The other day, I told my boyfriend that I wanted to cut it to Anne Hathaways' length, a cute 'mod bob' as some might call it. A few days go by, I find myself loving my long locks all over again. In addition, I'm baaaarely 5'0 so if I keep growing my hair out, will my long hair make me look shorter? If I cut my hair, does that mean I could trick others into thinking I'm actually 5'4?

Isn't it just hair and nothing more?

Do you feel your hair style matches your personality?

Does it make a difference?

Which do you like better? The shoulder-length bob or long long hair?

Thank you for listening to my random hair outburst today!

  1. Hair makes a huge difference! I prefer to have it long. Every 3-4 years though I cut it short and let it grow again.

    1. That's a great strategy. I might just do that...we'll see!

    1. That's what I've been hearing from some of my friends. Definitely don't want that regret feeling to sink in immediately after chopping it off.

  3. Hair is a huge part of the majority of women's lives and for some reason it does define them. I love longer hair and since my hair doesn't grow to great lengths, I'm content with just admiring it on other people :)

    1. There are days where I feel hair is a big part of our identity. I've had long hair for years and just wish there were more ways to update the look without taking drastic measures :P

  4. I'm with Taryn on this one, love long hair, get sick of the maintenance and cut it, then regret it terribly :)

    1. Ohh I forget the maintenance can not only get pricey but also sometimes annoying. Great point! I may just keep growing it out after all!

  5. Oh I understand what you mean! Sometimes it doesn't matter, other times it's a massive deal. My hair didn't matter for a looong time, and then 2 and a half years ago I chopped it all off, and how my hair looks and my latest style has become a big thing amongst my friends, so it's a little daunting changing it.

Having had both extremes (lengthwise) I think either way it'll involve a lot of maintenance...except for maybe that Anne Hathaway style. I think that'll suit you and it won't matter if you tie it up, leave it down, get it cut regularly or leave it to do its thing for a ridiculous amount of time :) But ultimately, make sure you're sure and confident about what your doing :)

Thanks for all the lovely comments you've left me! I shall definitely start testing out Gimp and photoshop! Rhi xx

    1. You are absolutely right. It just honestly comes down to confidence with any haircut or hairstyle! Good luck with those photo tools, I hope they help you out :) But, just know you already take lovely photos anyways!

  6. A bad hair day can pretty much kill anyone's mood, I think. I'm a long-haired kinda person, but I applaud those who are brave enough to pull off the cute short cuts. I think it's ironic that whenever I get really fed up with my hair and vow to chop it off, I have insanely good hair days. Has that ever happened to you?

    Sincerely,
    Sabrina

    1. I do too. It's super brave to chop those locks off and have a fresh start. I envy that. Oh, I have those days all the time, that's why I can't seem to make up my mind quite yet!

  7. I'm definitely a bra-length kinda girl! The shortest I wore my hair was an inch above my shoulders and I felt so "conservative" looking! My hair grows really slow, so after years of growing it out it's finally back to what I like. I'm also short, so below the bra line may be too long ... but as long as it's healthy! Unlike your hair, mine is wavy which makes it easier to control when it has a little length! Great post to make us all think!

    1. I recently read a hair article regarding long hair on short women; that it actually "overpowers" their height. I'm not sure if that's what I look like - - an overpowered gal with long hair! lol!
