Some days, I go to bed anxious to wake up the next morning, and work my butt of at the gym. Let's just say I consider those days my 'awesome motivational days that don't require motivation' and I better be grateful for that.
So, what about those other days? When I tell myself the night before, 'I'm going to lace up my shoes first thing in the morning after my protein shake and head straight out the door' - - but in reality, the morning drags on , I eat a huge breakfast and tell myself I have to wait for my food to digest...and before I know it...the excuses start coming out in all different directions. It sucks. I'm not a fan of those days..
But there is hope. In fact, my sweety recently told me hope is stronger than fear - - don't ever forget that. Here are some of my strategies that get me through those lazy days:
Jillian Michaels, Blogilates, Fitsugar.comhttp://www.fitsugar.com/, and fitnessista.
It seems every time I have a "lazy" or "non productive" moment, I follow this cycle and by the time I'm done browsing images of my favorite role models, I'm packing up my gym bag! I hope it works for you but if there is anything else you want to add that aids in motivating you, please share with all of us!

Great motivation post! Whenever I feel too tired, I just think about how much I used to weigh and all I've done up till now, and that keeps me going. ^^

Those results are soo motivating, aren't they? I love it!!
DeleteI thought it was just me who had those mornings of 'I am going to hop out of bed and go straight to the gym.... oh wait I need breakfast first... oh wait, there's something on TV... oh wait, where's my iPod?' I'm so glad I'm not the only one!! I Totally know what you mean though about just doing 'something' is better than 'nothing. So in true style Cathy and inspired by you, I did 30 minutes of yoga this morning and now I'm going for a bike ride! Thank you - let's motivate each other! :0)
ReplyDeleteYou're def not the only one, Angie! I honestly have days like that all the time. I have the same thoughts going through my head like 'Oh, I can work out later- there's a really good show on TV - - or oh, I'm tired, maybe I'll workout after a nap' - it's not a good cycle. But as long as we push ourselves out the door and get it done, it's the best feeling of all! Go YOU for doing yoga and the bike ride!!! I'm totally down to keep other going!
DeleteGreat motivational post. Looking at photos/creating a vision board is a great way to be motivated. Working out first thing in the morning leaves you with a great feeling of accomplishment.
ReplyDeleteYes!! It reminds me of what I want for myself and what I need to do to accomplish those goals! I'm working on working out more often in the mornings because it really is the best time!
DeleteGreat tips :) when holiday finishes I don't have time to complain, because I play football too :) Sport is such a great way to be motivated and happy :)

ReplyDeleteI've been having way too many of those days lately!! My way of combatting it is developing some sort of rewards system, so this morning I drew up a table, and for however long I exercise I get to put some money in a jar that will go towards a brand spankin new surfboard for when my joints are fully working :D
ReplyDeleteTaking progress pictures works too. I like that I'm not the only one who checks out my biceps to see if all the exercise is working :P Good luck with the cardio!! Rhi xx
The Wildest of Dreams
Ohh I'm loving that rewards system too! If I had more money - - I would do that lol! But for now, the pictures strategy is working pretty good. Not to come off as arrogant, but I do love checking out my muscles while I'm working out - - it's good to know they progress..and results are coming!
DeleteI'll need the luck with the cardio :P Thanks Rhi! Hope your weekend went well!
This is such a great thinking process! I seriously need to print this out and wallpaper my house with it!
ReplyDeleteChristine, thanks so much for stopping by! You should print it out :) I love visual inspiration especially when it surrounds me - so motivating, for sure.
