You know what? I'll tell you What.

I ate an oreo flavored Klondike bar last night while watching Annie Hall.

And you know what?

I don't feel bad about it one bit.

You know why?

Because I'm about to go to the gym, envision that Klondike bar all over again, and burn that all away by pumping some iron. I've worked too hard to let an amazing ice cream bar take my willpower away. But am also grateful for the ice cream bar for this important reminder:

I'm going to do just that! Today, I'm going to give 110% at the gym, make myself a vegetable-filled burrito, pick up The Happiness Project at the bookstore (and read at the bookstore because yes, I'm that frugal), and continue seeing results.

What about you? How do you reward yourself while in the process of achieving goals? I believe the fight is worth it but only if you're realistic and provide 1 cheat day each week. Otherwise, you would burn out, right? Thoughts?

  3. Oh I completely agree that you gotta allow yourself to indulge every now and then. You gotta enjoy life! You only live once, and I'm sure on your death bed you ain't gonna say, ” If only I worked out more, and avoided that Klondike bar...” Unless, that is, you're dying from an obesity-related disease..lol..but not really funny. Ok im done. Enjoy your day, miss Cathy!

  9. Couldn't agree more, girl! I had three glasses of wine AND 4 pieces of pizza last night! But as long as I keep on fighting, I don't feel bad in the least! Gotta cheat to make all the workouts worthwhile! Oh, and Cathy, your comment about glitter cracked me UP! I've never heard of it and it totally made me laugh! Love!

    1. Oh la la! That sounds like a good night, Holly! My thoughts exactly, we gotta allow our bodies to indulge (in moderation) to keep that motivation up. Otherwise, we may just give up altogether. Keep fighting the good fight :) Oh, geez - - I'm glad you liked that comment. Ever since I heard that from him, I always think of it when I hear anything glitter-related lol!
