{fearless} Thursday

Photobucket
I'm feeling quite the opposite of what the above pictures may suggest - fearless.

I'm actually really scared. Fearful.

I'm afraid of failing, looking like a fool, and not preparing enough.

Although I've done this many times, it still makes me want to cringe. {thank you Toastmasters for making me a little bit more confident in public speaking but the thought of it still freaks me out!}

So what do you do when you start feeling scared or hesitant or worried that you might Fail?

Face it and do it anyways. I'm biting the bullet today and doing my best. Why?

Because I feel like not trying would be much worse.

  1. I completely agree, I'd rather rail knowing I tried than fail without trying at all! I love that, 'Punch fear in the face'! Brilliant!

  2. I love it - punching fear in the face. I have a lot of things that I'm fearful about recently but I always remind myself that if I wasn't afraid, I wouldn't be growing

  3. You are one of the most fearless women I know :) I'm proud of having a friend who takes such giant steps and is still humble enough to admit she has fears like everyone else. It's the approach you take toward them that makes the difference!

  4. Great post .. and photos! We have a good bit of fear about our unknown future of living on a sailboat, but like you said ... not going for it would be much worse! I've been catching up on your blog ... love it! Your new volunteer position sounds exciting ... and rewarding too!

  5. i'm a horribly self-concious person, and surprisingly enough blogging has definitely made me feel more confident. i'll always have that little voice in my head doubting myself, but then i just have to remember that God's in control and I've got to trust him :-)
